That commercial makes absolutely no sense AT ALL.
Because, if they've always been stupid bints, they'd never have managed to come across as """"Intellectuals""". On the other hand, however, if they'd have been actual "people with brains" before the announcement of "ZOMG THARS COFFY @ MACDONALDS!!!!111" their reaction gives just the one impression: McD.'s makes your mind rot even from a distance.

Further, if it's just about the coffee, why don't they go to any of the bazillions of unknown places that aren't pseudy-classy like Starfucks?

And lastly, if the commercial is targeted at idiots, it's made of massive fail, because idiots won't get it either.

What they've archieved, however, is people talking at length about their new commercial, and thus about them. Way to go! More press that you can throw a latte at.

That's just...insane. What goes through the minds of the people who created that?! If this is the best idea they could come up with I wouldn't want to know what ideas they turned down...
